Yeah.
I like picnics.
This plan was jokingly borne out of a series of comments about having a picnic in my backyard.
Still, with less than a day's notice, a few of the girls had whipped up food to bring to Jells the very next day.
We all got there at 11 and set up our 4 picnic rugs next to the lake under one lonely tree.
Note all the people napping.
It was such splendid weather.
Bel brought her dog Jaffa.
Most docile dog ive ever met. HAHA
Check out his tongue in this photo.
We kinda miscalculated how much food we could eat. so in the end alot of it went unfinished.
Nevermind the fact that I was eating salad two days after the picnic, it was a good day.

sidenote:
I also brought my lame-ass butterfly kite hoping to fly it.
But there wasn't enough wind.
sadface. next time perhaps.

Aus Open
Where have my holidays gone.
The memories of my holidays have just become an amalgam of events sloshed together in my mind.
Thank God for timestamps on all the photos taken on my trusty low-res samsung camera phone. haha
here goes nothing.

Aus Open
If memory serves me correct. This was a freaking hot day.
We went down with a group of kids from Monash for Day 1 of the Tennis.
We were among the suckers who had to sit in the sun for the first 3 hours.
But all the sunburn we got was totally worth it. because we got shade for the next 12 hours.
No pain, no gain friends.
We were on the same court for the entire day.
You could only hold seats for maximum 2 points. So leaving was not an option.
Luckily, Bel and I came super prepared with our esky and accompanying fruits, cheese and crackers so it was all good.

Aus open were a bit tight with their freebies this year too.
Lots of photo booths, but besides that, not much else...
The last match ended at 11:30 and we didn't get home till 1 because of a little carpark mishap.
Long story short. 3 people had parked their cars at the Glen shopping centre carpark, which gets locked up at 10.
Luckily for Bel, she was the only one smart enough to park in the staff parking lot (which doesn't ever get locked up). But unfortunately it meant that she had to drive everyone home. haha.

edit.
When I got home I was shocked to find a super awkward singlet tan line. Funnily enough I had managed to put sunscreen in every possible sun-burnable location on my body but had completely forgotten my neck area.
Well done.

Movies & Toys
S a t u r d a y // 1 1 . 0 1 . 1 4
tom hanks plays walt and I don't know the chick who plays Travers BUT
so many scenes and quotes to like
and so many feels - I mean, I haven't bawled my eyes out like that in a while.
Surprisingly, quite a few scenes were set in Australia too.
sidenote: aussie accents sound wrong in movies.
-
We went and hung out with CC at Damo's afterwards too.
eddy somehow arrived before us #lulwut
In the afternoon I hung out with Judith and watched 'Saving Mr. Banks'. The story is losely based on the 20 year pursuit of Walt Disney in securing the rights to adapt P. L. Traver's 'Mary Poppins' into a Hollywood screenplay.

It was a really good movie and I especially like how they told the story - Even though later JubJub and I later (sadly) found out that the events were largely fictitious and character personalities were grossly overexaggerated.
damn you google.

$2
T u e s d a y // 0 9 . 0 1. 1 4
I hung out with some of my mates from uni in the afternoon
All these guys are ridiculously competitive at the pool but completely hopeless at tabletennis.
Regardless, it's entertaining watching them try.
By the time Bec had arrived we'd had enough of pool so we decided to do some cardio.
Just Dance 2 on Wii
Yeung completely dominated game with his moves - 'It's all in the hips bro!'
Afterwards we grabbed dinner at Nandos before deciding to kill time at 24hr KMart.
Bec was so amazed the entire time because she'd never been to it before.
We wanted something to do so we all agreed to do a gift-giving challenge.
Even got a few awkward stares from other patrons going about buying their things
After buying our gifts, we headed back home, stopping at Hungry Jacks on the way to grab a few cones for dessert.
Didn't know Hungry Jacks had choctops!
Preety good.
After we got back, a few more sad losses were made by the girls team on the pool table.
This is a pre-loser shot.
I have a knack for making my team lose.
Gift exchanging time!
Joel put our names all in a hat and we had to draw out the names of the receiver of our gifts.
My person was Yeung.
There were so many thing to choose from at Kmart. In the end I snapped up these interesting 'moustache shaped pencil erasers' and this minature wind-up toycar which I thought was cool.
Yeung was so amused by the car. haha
All our gifts.
The most interesting and entertaining gift were the 'sticky slap hands' which Kevs got for Bec.
Halfway through the night one of us had discovered that they were strong enough to 'grab and drag' away the heavy pool balls.
And so began the never-ending-sabotage-riddled pool match of the century.
Somehow my wheelie bin sharpeners ended up on the table too and 2 extra rules were made.
1. If anyone hits a wheelie bin on their turn with any ball there will be a penalty imposed on the individual determined by the group
2. each person on the losing team is subject to a penalty
Poor Yeung hit the bins a total of 5 times
We were harsh with the penalties too.
-evil laughs-
hur hur hur
Best $2 investments we have ever made. haha
