Adelaide - Day 1

Waking up at 3:30am this morning was not my ideal way of spending the boxing day holiday.

Whilst everyone else was busy at chaddy today either getting squished alive by people or spending a lifetime just looking for parking, I was stuck in a car for eight hours. =="

Sure, we did stop to pee and eat occasionally, but really most of the time I spent looking like (see pic of sis)

Its 9:30 right now, half an hour behind EST and im sitting in our apartment lobby USING MY NEW IPAD :D making use of the only connection to the outside world available to me at the moment.

Adelaide is kinda a dead city.
Most shops, well restaurants to be specifi don't stay open past 8pm. Massive culture shock... What do people do with their lives here???

So far we've been to... Nowhere actually. =-="

Although on an interesting note, my sister and i have noticed that there are an alarming number of hobos in this city .__.

Hmmm.

Some more tea?

At wilson's place the girls guys did their hair.
Wilson was very eager to show off his hairdressing skills.

Helping homan wash his hair.
because he doesn't know how to do it himself
"This is for volume, and it's heat activated"
"Don't worry, you look ugly now,
but after we put wax in your hair,  you will look better"

"Can you squat? you're too damn tall!"
I suggested that we spray only one half of his head red.
Turned out better than i had imagined ;D

so ranga.

"I can't wait till I can drive a real car"

If he doesn't get into uni,
i'm sure the beauty industry will gladly accept him.
HAHA
Judith brought her waffle maker... and we did magic.

I wish i could have taken more pictures but i had to tape my camera to a tree for the next half hour in anticipation of Eddy's grand and rather delayed entrance.

I finished eiting the video this morning:
ENJOY!

Then the teaparty began. :D

The birthday child.
What he was eating.
What i was eating
What homan had to eat ;D
many moar things happened. but go to caf's blog to find out about it.
HAPPY 18th BIRTHDAY EDDY!

oh. and as it's already 12:03am.
MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Fancy some tea?

So yesterday, it was EDDY'S 18TH
It was an alice in wonderland themed tea party.
And it was AWESOME.
It was the whole kit and caboodle with an outdoor setting, tea cups, TEA, sugar, cakes, WAFFLES, maple syrup, jelly, candles... *squirms like a little kid*

go to judiee the foodie to look at all za FOOOD http://quaverbeats.blogspot.com/

Under normal circumstances, my alarm clock would wake me up, but this morning i woke in anxiety because  i still hadn't sorted out my costume.

I mean, who has a "red queen" and a blue "alice" dress casually lying around the home!?
... obviously judith and caf do =-=" haha

After an hour of rummaging through my closet my sister's closet, I found a bright red pair of shorts which I thought would couple nicely with my red suspenders, tie and santa hat. :D
problemo solved.

Following the recieving of an SOS from Caf for help, I bused down to her place in my bright red shorts to help with the rest of the awesome birthday card she was making for eddy.

When I walked in wielding gifts of gluesticks, Brandon was already there busy cutting and pasting embarrassing pictures of eddy on paper at the dining table.
he was also busy camwhoring with caf's camera... but ANYWAY

Just before Brandon left to meet up with his rents, Caf asked to borrow Brandon's bike and then begged me she blackmailed me to go bike riding with her in the 28 degree heat from all the way from Mount Waverley to Holmesglen Officeworks.

Her reason? "To save money"

I'M SORRY JOEY. WE WENT WITHOUT YOU.

To be honest, it was pretty fun. But minus the heat it would have been even funner.
It took about 35 mins to ride from my place to officeworks. Minus all the stopping.. (caf >.>)

At officeworks, they didn't have a bike rack so instead we improvised and locked the bikes to each other.

Commemorative photo.
Inside, while caf went off to print flattering photos of our faces
LIKE THIS.

AND THIS.

I sat patiently at the table like a hobo with a knife finishing off the colouring another kid started had started.
who the hell colours in big bird red?! kids these days...

I wasn't kidding when I said I had a knife.
We had to use it to sharpen the pencils because they had no sharpeners.
i was so sure that we were at officeworks...

FINISHED PRODUCT.
TADAH!

Then once again we got on our bikes and rode down to bubble cup.

Extra large taro ice with rainbow jelly.

I asked to keep the blue cup.
no surprise there...
Then LIKE A BOSS.
We 'rode' back to mount to grab some ribbon and a candy cane.

what? i was hungry...
lol jks. it's not edible
We went our separate ways and i went home to shower for the second time and get ready to go to wilson's place..

What every little kid wants for christmas.

The KwongLeeDowYSP presents you with this bonsai tree as a symbol of nurturing, growth and commitment.
We wish you continued success in your studies.

A BONSAI TREE?
aww shucks Melb Uni, you shouldn't have.
It's what I've always wanted!

I've had a pet goldfish and a pet guinea pig. and they've all somehow managed to die in my care... =-="

I've never had to look after a tree before...
This will be interesting.

what a hectic couple of days.

Thursday:
Trip to the Beach with the peeps.
Highlights of the day.
- After a certain bus incident which was kinda entirely my fault, HAH. we finally arrived at Mordialloc beach.
- We decided it would be more fun to cook our own food on the electric BBQ. so we walked into safeway and bought 2 kilos of sausages and bread. we saved so much money and that's most important.
- There was also this playground next to the beach and which had this awesome-ass and slightly dangerous orange swing thing.
- Had a waterbomb fight.

Go to judiee's blog to see pictures of how the day went at
quaverbeats.blogspot.com

or alternatively,
go to caf's blog... when she finally decides to blog about it.

Friday:
VCE and ATAR results are finally out.
- There was a phone call at 6:45 in the morning. who the hell calls this early?!
I thought it would have been one of the asian aunties eager to know what my ATAR was, but no.
Of all people, it was our neighbours wanting to know how i went.
- I went into shock after discovering I didn't do nearly as crap as I thought in the Englang exam.
WHAT. that can't be right. *spams refresh button*
- In light of the end of VCE, a couple of us decided to bum around at judith's house in celebration. We played cranium and taboo almost continuously from 11 to 5, only stopping momentarily to pee and eat lunch and peanuts.

Next goal: find 5 peanuts in one shell.

Saturday:
My sister suddenly wanted to go to the city. So off we went.
We went to Vic market and walked around looking at random gimmicks and overpriced bags. I bought two bracelets
When it got too hot, we decided to head back down Elizabeth street and eat at a place called COCONUT HOUSE

Each menu had a different cartoon at the front
Iced lemon tea & Iced Soymilk with palm syrup

Nasi Lemak. damn, that sambal was hot.

To be honest, i wasn't too impressed because the Malaysian Nasi Lemak I ordered came out with a red THAI curry as opposed to a Malaysian Rendang.

but Oh well.
Despite being malaysian, I was never a big fan of malaysian food anyway...
It's so oily and hard for me to stomach.

The rest of the day was spent browsing myers and david jones.
We went purely coz of the air conditioning and nice couches they had there. haha.

Sunday:
Went to the beach.
yet again. =="
why does our family always have a bad habit of going to the beach on the coldest days of the month...

The day was pretty gloomy,
But the day was brightened when my sister and I spotted this car driving ahead of us around aspendale

How much you wanna bet the guy inside wasn't asian?
GOLD.

ouch.

I'm aching.
All over.
And in muscles which, up till now, I never knew I had.

A couch potato no more.

After a couple of weeks of lazing around and eating in front of laptop watching Hawaii-5-0
I've finally pulled myself together to do some exercise.

Time to get FIT.

No more using this excuse anymore...

How you ask?
I decided to take another shot at this thing I attempted and also subsequently, miserably failed. earlier in term 2, called..
-insert drumroll-
The 4-week Fitness Program.
last time i only managed to do 2 weeks... HAH. i'll let you know how it goes this time...
anyways, check it out here if you decide you're a fat shit too. http://www.defencejobs.gov.au/lifestyleoffitness/default.aspx

As the name suggests, it's a fitness program which apparently upon completion makes you fit enough to pass the minimum fitness requirements (running, pushups and situps) to enlist in the army/navy or airforce. It's reassuring to know that even if i screw up my atar, i'll still be able to join the army. hah

Today was a run and 3 sets each of  pushups and situps.
I tried to run. emphasis on tried. after like not even 500 metres i was already huffing and puffing.
and now don't even get me started on the pushups and situps.

one word. embarrasing.

Tomorrow...

Heading out to genesis fitness with judith and caf in the morning to do some boxing-type-exercise-workout thingo.
Looking forward to some violence :D

haha i kid i kid.

Blood Donation

It didn't look so bad.
That was, until I saw the needle. holy shit. it was big.

You have nice juicy veins!
said the nice murse with a russian accent. HAHA.

Somewhere out there, someone will need my blood.
that sounds kinda weird. haha

Look here for embarrasing photos of me with spilt juice.

Sunday 4th December

It was freezing cold today.
It even rained for a bit.

And yet my dad insisted that we go to the beach.
So at 11:00 here we are at the beach.

The Beach. as you can see, it's a very popular destination for people to kick back and relax in the cold weather.

To be specific, we went to mordialloc beach.

Not mordialloc beach. But a nice view.

We didn't swim because it was too cold.
Instead. We stood on the sand and pretended we did.

Pretending to like the beach.
What can i say. She was dying for an outdoor hot shower.

We had Lou-shu-fun for lunch

While we waited for the rents to bring us the food we took random photos ...

Of our feet

You'll be seeing this on a Jetstar Ad one day

Compete fail.

And finally, the day wouldn't be complete without going shopping. for the second day in a row...
This time we went to Cheltenham Westfield.

It's WAY bigger than chaddy and has all the big name retailers including MYER, David Jones, Kmart, Target, BIG W... not to mention Dick Smith, JB Hifi, Safeway, Coles, ALDI...

now all that's missing is Officeworks...

Saturday 3rd December.

I'm still pretty upset that i only got to eat two pieces of pizza last night.
Hense this morning i woke up feeling tired hungry.

Today...

  1. I had a miniature heart attack at Springvale Homemaker Centre when i thought i dropped my phone in the toliet.
I spent ages thinking of the best way to explain to my mum how that managed to happen
and then almost cried in elation when i realised an hour later that it was on the floor of our car.

    thank goodness
i didn't actually drop it into the toilet.
i no matter how hard i thought, i couldn't fully comprehend how it managed to flush away with my pee with such ease ...

  2. We went to Westfield shopping centre - Fountain Gate.
Because I had a $50 gift voucher. not that i actually bought anything with it in the 4 hours we were there...

I did find this cute Scrabble Fridge Magnets thing though. which i didn't end up buying either...

surely eddy, judiee and brandon can appreciate this :D

  3. My dad drove us all the way down to Packenham to visit his colleague's new house
yes that's right, visit the house, not the colleague.

When i walked in, it was kinda like walking into IKEA- Furnaiture showroom in one area, flat packed storage in the other. AWESOME.

They also had not one but two super cute Shiatsu puppies. although they weren't so cute after i realised they liked to slobber. One was called 'Bella' and i forgot the name of the other.

  4. We went to Springvale to eat PHO for dinner, buy aloe vera drink and watch old men play chess whilst waiting for the rents to replenish our food supply.

ahhh i had the whole day to go shopping and all i did was eat food =="

gj chooi-ee. gj now we all know where all your money goes.

down the toilet.

P.S I know there's two no.3's. MIND EXPLOSION. If i've screwed up everything you believed to be true up till now. I'm sorry.
Don't hate the blogger. Hate the Blog.

moar damage to my eyes plOx!

I woke up bright and early like a good kid to sell the rest of my textbooks books today :D
pfft. i wake up for anything that involves me getting money.

Nobody wants to buy 2011 chem or methods checkpoints though.
Somebody buy the rest of my books. PUH-LEASE. =="

Oh well.

After that i ran back across the road to grab some breakfast and my external hard drive before heading to Amy's place. the bus came 2 minutes EARLY today. so i missed the bus. FML. i had to walk for 45 minutes instead. but that's not so bad because i still had to work off the fish and chips from wilson's house the day before.

Breakfast. Did Up and Go always taste this crap? when i was younger, I always remembered it tasting nicer...

I brought the media player as well to plug into the TV.
Unlike yesterday at wilson's, this time i actually remembered to bring the remote.
It was all good, up until we turned it on and then realised that there was no colour display.
i carried it there all for nothing...

In the end we gave up and decided to watch it on her macbook.

Crap flavored crackers. crap. crab. HAHA gettit? no? ok... =='

We watched Fast and Furious 5 and then I attempted to watch The Ring with her.
...but I was too preoccupied with hiding underneath the purple snuggie and screaming my head off to care what the story was about. yeah. i admit. i'm a total sissy when it comes to scary movies...

Lunch?
Bring out the
kelloggs crunchy nut!

No matter how i look at it, JiHeon's haircut always reminds me of a poodle....

The rest of the time we spent watching random eps from korean dramas and talking about Uni. She gave me a nice scare talk about it. =="

Their house was minus 124234357328940 degrees because her mum decided to put the aircon on...

now. scusee me while i waste another few hours of my life playing guitar hero. :D
my eyesight is going to die very soon.
